From this to this - Part 13

The front RH headlight assembly took considerable time as it was the area damaged in the smash & I had tried to salvage as many of the parts that I could. Finally, it was taking shape & with the help of Anthony J. from the Capri Club, who supplied me with some badly needed parts (indicator light cover & chrome surround), I was able to get it looking respectable. In fact, with the grill in & the bumper on, it was starting to look good.
LESSON 19: Club members are a very useful source of information and spare parts. It is amazing what people have in their sheds and how willing they are to share this with other devoted car maniacs.
As I was going away again, I wanted to get the remaining bucket seat repaired so I took the driver’s seat all apart and then took the vinyl section to Jobsons so they could replace the damaged front section. I also had decided to do one of the more difficult jobs before I went away & that was to refit the windscreen wiper assembly. For a young old bugger, who has gas in both eyes, two hearing aides and gets back cramps, lying on your back up under the dashboard is not my favourite position. After removing my whistling hearing aids & using a very strong light, I was eventually able to fit the assembly in place after getting the vital screw in place under the instrument panel. However, when I went to put the external nuts on the spindles, there was very little thread to use. Something was wrong!! Back under the dash & guess what? The metal spaces that fit on the inside of the spindles were around the wrong way, so off came the assembly & with a change in the way the spaces were facing it went back together OK & then I could actually do up the exterior nuts quite well. So that was done, thank goodness, so I thought! As I had not connected the wiring, I was unable to test how well they worked.
LESSON 20: When taking off the wiper assembly, carefully note or take plenty of pictures of how it all was, otherwise you will be like me and having to do a terrible job twice. Well, actually there is more to this story, so just make sure you really do note where things fit.
